The Church of Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois is a medieval Roman Catholic Church in the 1st arrondissementof Paris, directly across from the Louvre Palace. This is the first place of worship on the site was a small oratory founded in the 5th century to commemorate a meeting of Saint Germanus with Saint Genevieve the future patron saint of Paris.
This historic church was painted by Claude Monet in 1867 in impressionalism style.
